Former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has sounded the alarm over the Biden government’s efforts renegotiating the nuclear deal with Iran, Warning it will create a “nuclear powder keg” from the Middle East.

The former prime minister issued a strong warning of the dangerous consequences of resuming the deal and how it would affect nuclear proliferation in the Middle East and beyond.

“What will happen is that other countries in the Middle East will go after nuclear weapons themselves,” Netanyahu warned “Fox & Friends” On Wednesday. “This deal, designed to stop nuclear weapons in the Middle East and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction in that neighborhood and beyond, will actually cause nuclear proliferation, and the Middle East will have nuclear weapons running through it as tripwires. It will make the Middle East a powder keg, a nuclear powder keg.”

“This is madness,” he continued. “That’s the height of folly. It shouldn’t be done.”

A report earlier this week indicated that the Biden administration is closer to accepting a deal amid ongoing negotiations as Iran has done so concessions dropped previously used as roadblocks.

Some of those claims, now dropped, reportedly concern the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps’ (IRGC) classification as a terrorist and investigations by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

“I think this is a terrible deal, a dangerous deal that will pave Iran’s path to gold, a gold-paved highway to a nuclear arsenal,” Netanyahu said. “If Iran has nuclear weapons, they not only threaten my country, Israel, or the entire Middle East and America’s allies. They threaten you directly because, at the same time as nuclear weapons are being developed, they are developing the means to transport them across continents.”

“So you could have an Iran ruled by these fanatical ayatollahs who will hold every American city hostage to nuclear weapons,” he continued. “I think it’s a threat to world peace, and that’s what this horrible deal is facilitating. It’s even worse than the first one.”

The Biden administration has been criticized for pushing to revive the Iran nuclear deal afterward Assassination plans against Trump administration officials were presented in the last few weeks.

Critics fear that resuming the deal will only fuel Iran’s terror regime and backfire both regionally and internationally.

National Security Council coordinator John Kirby told Fox News Tuesday that Biden “understands” the concerns of Israel and neighboring countries, but remains committed to rejoining the JCPOA and using diplomacy as a means to prevent Iran from to acquire nuclear capabilities.
