You can still get a PlayStation 5 bundle from Sony and Walmart without waiting in line

If you haven’t been able to land Sony’s next-gen console yet, both Sony and Walmart are currently offering another chance. Sony is at it again Selling the PlayStation 5 Horizon Forbidden West Bundle for $549.99while Walmart sells the same configuration for $549. If you’re unfamiliar with the pack, the aptly titled Horizon Forbidden West Bundle includes the disc-based PS5, along with digital code to download a copy of Guerrilla Games’ Excellent Horizon forbidden west. Best of all, unlike Sony’s recent restocking events, you don’t have to enter an online queue to check out at any of the retailers – just log in with your PlayStation Network ID or Walmart credentials and check out off (seriously).

Of course, we can’t guarantee you’ll be able to snag the console today, but there are a few things you can do to maximize your chances. First, remember that when you buy a PS5 from Sony or Walmart, you’ll need to sign in with your PlayStation Network ID or Walmart credentials. It’s therefore wise to have your username and password ready, and remember that you can only buy one console per account, regardless of which retailer you go to. Luckily, this time you don’t have to wait in a virtual queue to make your purchase, which both retailers used to do.

Enjoy your PS5 even more with these accessories and games

Why not get ready for your new PS5 with some fun accessories and games to while away the wait? Here are some we recommend:

Sony Pulse 3D Headset (Black)

Sony’s own wireless gaming headset is designed to showcase the PS5’s 3D audio effect and also works on the PS4. This version matches the midnight black DualSense controller and PS5 console covers.

Midnight Black DualSense Controller

The jet-black DualSense controller features the same hardware as the original – haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, etc. – only with a two-tone design reminiscent of PS2, PS3, and PS4 consoles.

PlayStation Plus (annual membership)

PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now prepaid membership cards can still be redeemed for the three new tiers of Sony’s revamped service: PlayStation Plus Essential, Extra and Premium. All of these subscriptions offer online gaming, with varying degrees of downloadable gaming included as part of the membership.

Gran Turismo 7

Polyphony Digital’s latest installment in the long-running Real Driving Simulator series, Gran Turismo 7 is a celebration of cars with an extensive campaign and photo mode.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift apart

The latest adventure from Insomniac Games in the Ratchet & Clank Series is the funniest entry so far. It’s also the first to launch on PS5, and it’s a showcase for both amazing graphics and fast loading speeds.

Demon Souls (2020)

A remake of the 2009 game demons souls by FromSoftware, rebuilt from the ground up by Bluepoint Games.

Update Sep 9 1:48pm ET: Adjusted prices and additional details on Walmart availability.

Correction September 8, 3:50 p.m. ET: A previous version of this article claimed that you had to enter a virtual queue to buy the PlayStation 5 Horizon forbidden west bundle up. However, there is no virtual queue and bundles can be purchased directly from Sony. We regret the mistake.
