Gotham Knights leaked... and it sucks
Written by admin

Pre-ordered copies of Gotham Knights were accidentally shipped to some customers before they should have shipped. The “lucky” players who got their editions early shared footage online… and this game just sucks. Watch our video if you are too lazy to read.

Gotham Knights looked great in the trailers (and we said so much back then). It was such a cool idea. Giving us four different Batman heroes and continuing what worked in Arkham Knight but on newer technology. Unfortunately, the studio ignored the last part. At least that’s what it looks like based on what we’ve seen now…

Gotham Knights Exposed: Shockingly bad quality

Some copies of Gotham Knights shipped to customers a week ahead of schedule, but those players started uploading the gameplay online… and fans are furious. In short: the game doesn’t look like next-gen, far from it actually Console versions locked at 30 fps. Consider that many games now run at up to 120 fps on next-gen consoles. Heck, even the PS4 has loads of 60fps games. But not this brand new version.

You might be tempted to think that this is just one player’s experience, and maybe with Performance mode enabled the game will improve. But you would be wrong:

No performance mode on Xbox One Series S/X or PS5 confirmed by Devs on Discord out Gotham Knights

The developers even had to cancel the old-gen versions and still couldn’t get the next-gen exclusive version to run at more than 30 fps. And we don’t hate the developers here: They explained that this limitation is due to the game offering untethered co-op in a massive open world. And we understand it’s going to be technically challenging and that’s the price we paid. We don’t hate it, it’s just a shame as the generation started off strong with one 60fps title after another.

Again, we don’t want to be unfair to the studio. If you can overlook the poor technical performance, there’s a good chance you’ll still be able to enjoy this game. But that’s a bad look for Warner Bros, who can’t enjoy the same leniency we offer indie developers. This game needs to be better for a 2022 release. This, along with the general bad press this game is generating, has led to some people even canceling their pre-orders.

If we haven’t persuaded you to give up this game and you still want to enjoy Gotham Knights, all power to you. Here is a link to it Buy Gotham Knights. But don’t be surprised if you start playing and feel underwhelmed.
