Mary M. Cosby will return to The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City in a “girlfriend of” role, multiple sources confirmed to Page Six on Wednesday.
A source has clarified that Cosby, 50, hasn’t been cast as a full-time “housewife” but will instead be filming “a few scenes” of the upcoming season – which is set to resume production on February 27. 13.
“Mary wanted to come back,” the insider said.
However, a second source explained that while Cosby had hoped to return to the franchise, he needed time to process Jennie Nguyen’s racial controversy.
Nguyen, 44, was Dismissed January 2022 after just one season for a series of objectionable social media posts that mocked the Black Lives Matter movement and the 2020 protests.
“Mary dealt with a lot of trauma after Season 2,” the insider tells us from Cosby, who previously skipped the Season 2 reunion leaving the show in total.
“Jennie’s racist posts seemed to really upset Mary, especially afterwards Jennie threw a glass at her on camera,” the source explained. “Mary has been grateful for the time away from the cameras but seems ready to get back in the action.”
When Cosby left “Salt Lake City” in February 2022, a source told Page Six that she “didn’t enjoy her time on the show or form strong bonds with the ladies.”
But things have changed a year later. Another insider teased that Cosby has since returned to the group as a friend of Meredith Marks the jewelry designer is currently the only cast member communicating with the preacher.

“They’ve reconnected over the past year,” the source noted, “and have been texting and talking more over the past few months.”
Bravo did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
Veteran stars Marks, Heather Gay, Lisa Barlow and Whitney Rose all kept their season 4 snowflakes.

News of Cosby’s return comes after Page Six revealed that the The cast would get a major shake up after a “dark” season 3.
“They’re trying to recruit new women to loosen it up,” a source told Us on 11/20, adding that they’re still deciding whether the “friends of” season 3 – which include Angie Harrington, Angie Katsanevas and Danna Bui- Negrete – “be promoted or if they would find new talent”.
Marks later exclusively told Page Six that she agreed they “need people to help bridge the gap” of the “divided” occupation.
Marks may be referring to when the current season, which concludes Wednesday night, took a turn after decades-long friends Marks, 51, and Barlow, 46 and cousins who have become best friends, Gay, 49, and Rose, 36, could not repair their explosive sorties.
